What is pediatric home health care?

Pediatric home care is a unique and specialized area of health care. It is designed to meet the specific needs of infants, children, and adolescents up to 18 years of age with disabilities or serious medical conditions. All care is delivered in the comfort of home by a licensed nurse or nursing assistant.

When a child has been discharged from the hospital, has an acute illness or injury, or has long-term disabilities or special needs in home pediatric services are often recommended as an alternative to facility care, to help children get the clinical care they need at home and simultaneously provide relief for exhausted guardians.
